Our Story:  Straddling the Nexus…

Edmond Scientific Company was founded in 1997, starting as a one-man engineering firm executing basic electronic document conversion contracts.  Over the years the company grew, and with it grew the scope of work and level of expertise required to execute technologically complex, multi-year, multi-million dollar federal contracts. Today, Edmond Scientific Company straddles the nexus of the legal and health technology fieldswhile also bridging the gap of these disparate industries.

Edmond Scientific Company is now positioned as a leader in all manner of electronic document management practices.  From the highest level, where our enterprise architects and software engineers author international Health Level-7 (HL-7) specifications for the secure exchange of patients’ electronic health data;  to chairing national standards committees for the interoperability of network architectures where these records are exchanged;  to architecting the NHIN, BHIE and VLER networks.  These advancements all point back to the very roots of ESC, the fulcrum of our business, converting paper to electronic data for intelligent applications for our clients’ data.

ESC maximizes the ROI for our clients in document conversion by applying capabilities for storing, searching, sorting and acting upon an electronic record.  Our comprehensive suite of services lend a competitive edge to our clients, with intelligent enterprise applications for effectively managing our clients’  data.

Mission

One of the missions of this company is to commercialize healthcare technologies developed under federal contract to improve the lives of 1 billion people.   The other mission is to continually develop innovative technologies in order to improve the lives of the other 7 billion people.

Vision "Except for the night, we could never know the stars"

Edmond Scientific Company, like many commercial ventures of the last few decades, has weathered cycles of both prosperous and unstable economic times. Through the boom and busts, ESC persevered.  Core values and staff intact, ESC looks to the horizon with optimism and great anticipation.

From the trials of this era, a wisdom was born:  Though steel may bend while held to the fire, the strength fundamental to its disposition hardens to an impenetrable metal. It is this metal that forms the ESC armiture with which future successes shall be won.

Business Requirements
Our methodology collects, analyzes, and prioritizes the differences between functional requirements, security requirements, and technical requirements; translating into streamlined processes with targeted results.

Stakeholder Validation
We believe one of the most critical aspects of a project is validation of stakeholders through governance mechanisms we put in place.

Model Driven Methods
Our methodology uses a modeling approach, not simply diagrams. A standard diagram conveys thoughts but doesn’t support referential integrity, reuse of objects, completeness checking, traceability, or reflecting changes globally.

Collaborative Methods
Our process uses a distribution methodology for sharing information to yield an informed solution.
